Facebook: Getting rid of "So and so was Live" messages

These messages refer to one of your friends putting up a real-time video. If this irritates you, you have two options:

1. Smash all their cameras :-)
2. Change your FB Live Video notifications, like this

(Caution:  This was correct as at 27/12/16. Facebook frequently rearrange their menus so it may go out of date)

Near the right-hand end of the FB toolbar is the down arrow that accesses Settings. Click it



Click Settings on the menu






Choose Notifications from the left-hand panel

In the Notification Settings, choose Edit on the On Facebook line



Change Live Videos to All Off
